Urban Dream, New Media installation: custom software, lcd screen, pc, wood, paint, 40"x40", 2005

Urban Dream is about life and existence; spaces circulate within time around an unfixed center point. The time component activates and transforms the circular paths by challenging our perception of boundaries - constantly shifting the boundaries causes space to become temporal. The active component of the work is generated by software code that creates an on-going changeable system of circularity.

Urban Dream is my vision of heterotopy and other utopian systems. It’s an on-going process of being and living in multiple circles at the same time, and about being able to travel from one space to another. Although the system is random, it possesses a quality of harmony that I have been looking for in postmodern living.
